My "honeymoon" with Ralu at Colibița

It's been a while since I posted something here, but life was pretty hectic during those summer months and I barely had time to do anything at all except studying. To put it in a nutshell, I had my final exams, wrote my final thesis, graduated uni and got into the masters programme I wanted, so things turned out all good and all my hard work paid off. :) I couldn't wait for all of this to be over so I could get away and let my summer finally begin.
And what better way to do it, than by meeting with one of my dearest friends and going away together on a "honeymoon" (we called it so as a joke) into the mountains by a beautiful lake. I stayed with Ralu for two days at the amazing Colibița lake and had the most wonderful time together, laughing, talking about every single possible thing, riding with the canoe, or...well, pretending to do it because neither of us knew how that thing worked, swimming and of course taking tons of photos. It's been literally SO HARD to choose some to put here, hence the delay in making this post, cause they are all very dear to me, but I finally managed to make up my mind and make this rough selection.

On our first day we walked from one side of the lake to the other, hoping we could go round it (we didn't in the end cause the distance was too big) and admired the beautiful country scenery.

When we got back, I dived straight into the lake, while Ralu was lazing about on the shore. :)

In the afternoon we went to have dinner and of course it took us maybe an hour to get there because we stopped from 5 to 5 minutes to take photos.

But how couldn't we, when we had all this beauty surrounding us?

We finally arrived at sunset and had the best dinner - chocolate crépes. Myamm!

The next day, we served our breakfast to this amazing lake view...

Then lazed about  on the pier, enjoying the view, talking and laughing together :)

In the afternoon we went "sailing" with the canoe, having crazy laughs along the way because we just couldn't handle the thing. As soon as we were getting it to go straight it would start turning and going around in circles to the probable amusement of the people on the shore. But we really didn't care, cause we had such a great time. :)

After our canoeing adventure, we went on our dinner quest yet again, enjoying the beautiful scenery on the way.

Of course dinner = chocolate crépes once again, and afterwards, we enjoyed some wine on the pier while doing some stargazing. :)

On the morning that we left, we woke up at 5am to catch the sunrise and take photographs. We were both so sleepy and freezing on top of that, but it was all worth it.

Us, before leaving...

...and our happy feet and the lake view. :)

Honestly, this was one of the best getaways I ever had. Ralu is such a darling and I am very glad that I can call her my friend. Can't wait to see her again, spend time together and photograph everything along the way. :) She is a really talented photographer, make sure you check out her artist page.
I will also post some portraits she took of me during those days, so stay tuned. :)

Mogoșoaia Castle

At the beginning of May I went with my roommate Cori, and her sister Miruna to the Mogoșoaia Castle, a very pretty medieval castle turned into a museum, just outside Bucharest for a picnic. I finally had some time to take photos again and was lucky that the girls were more than cooperative. We had a great time, although me and Cori got sun-burnt, but it was all for a good cause after all, cause I really like some of the photographs that I took. :)
After we left Mogoșoaia, we went to the National Museum of Natural Science to see an exhibition of tropical butterflies, which was enchanting. We ran around the greenhouse chasing the butterflies like little children, having the best of fun, laughing and taking photos all along. :)

everything i can never tell you (iv)

dearest,

i lay on your side of the bed this afternoon in the warm sunset light and it felt safe. it felt like i was resting my head on your chest like i once used to when we curled up together. i closed my eyes and whispered warmly into the pillow the words i wish i could have tattooed on your heart.

imissyou

yours, always,
C.

everyhting i can never tell you (III)

dearest,

isn't it a pity that we live in this world, yet we don't know how to live at all? all these thoughts and worries burden and trouble us even at night, turning our dreams into nightmares, turning us into outcasts in a body that can do nothing but hold all of the monsters we grow inside of us.

i know how much you're fond of darkness, how it comforts and makes you believe you're safe there, but please, from time to time, open your eyes and see that you are more than what your monsters make you believe you are. though cracked and chipped and broken at your seams, you are still you, the one who swallowed me whole with a single blue gaze. the one whose rules i broke and never felt the least bit sorry for it. the one whose mouth i knew my name would sound safe in. for all of these and for many more, i whisper "i love you" into the wind every evening at sunset, hoping that one day my words will reach you like the echoes of a conch shell and then you will learn to love yourself, even if it's only the littlest bit of how much i do.

so listen. it's all around you. all you have to do is open yourself up. all you have to do, is listen.

yours, always,
C.

Îmbrățișarea

„Când ne-am zărit, aerul dintre noi
şi-a aruncat dintr-o dată

cu morţile-i nerepetate.
Şi să te-mbrăţişez cu coastele-aş fi vrut.”
