A November day with Elfride

Life can sometimes be a bummer. Especially when local transportation companies are involved. Me and my dear Elfride had planned a seaside escape for a while now, but due to the fact that her train had a delay of 2 and a half hours, we missed the connection with the train which would had taken us to the seaside.
We were both sad, because we really wanted to see the sea together on a cold November day, but there was nothing we could do, so we could at least enjoy the time we had together until Elfie had to catch the train back to Cluj. So we wandered down the streets of Bucharest sharing stories along the way, admiring old buildings and taking photos in beautiful places.

We parted in the evening, after spending a wonderful afternoon in a very cosy pub, being thankful for the short time we had together and promising each other that we will go to the seaside together this winter no matter what. :)

Mogoșoaia Castle

At the beginning of May I went with my roommate Cori, and her sister Miruna to the Mogoșoaia Castle, a very pretty medieval castle turned into a museum, just outside Bucharest for a picnic. I finally had some time to take photos again and was lucky that the girls were more than cooperative. We had a great time, although me and Cori got sun-burnt, but it was all for a good cause after all, cause I really like some of the photographs that I took. :)
After we left Mogoșoaia, we went to the National Museum of Natural Science to see an exhibition of tropical butterflies, which was enchanting. We ran around the greenhouse chasing the butterflies like little children, having the best of fun, laughing and taking photos all along. :)

București

This city has been home for the past 2 years. I've come to love it as it is, with the goods and the bads, trying to find its beauty in the everyday rush. Being away for a while, only to return for a couple of days before going away for an even longer time made me realize how much I am going to miss my life here, my friends, the buildings, the streets...I feel so homesick and I haven't even left yet.
Stravopoleos street and the CEC building
the backyard of the Stravopoleos monastery

beautiful old buildings in the historical center
empty café in the morning
florăria lipscani & the window from thomas antiques (two of my favorite places in the city)

I never imagined leaving would be so damn hard. Gosh, I can't wait to come back.
